Identify the PSO
We have identified several different PSO’s within the company which hold potential to be digitally marketed, which are shown below in the mind map diagram provided.
We have evaluated each PSO, considered who we will aim each product, service or opportunity at and what the most effective strategy for implementing this would be.
This table details advantages and disadvantages of each PSO we have considered.
We identified financial advice as a service that would be of potential interest to first time home owners, those planning their retirement over the age of 55, and small organisations requiring budget planning.
We have elected to look further into financial advice services as we will be able to target a variety of demographics and cater to all their financial needs and utilise the range of expertise that Burton Beavan possess.
Identify the DMC objectives
Shown on the Mind Map in the outer layer of ideas, are several DMC techniques. These are all specific to each segment that has been identified through careful consideration of exactly who each PSO would be desirable to.
The DSM communications need to primarily achieve a broader client base whilst persuading the existing clients to utilise Burton Beavan’s entire arsenal of services and products. Below are several different forms of DMC with their benefits and drawbacks.
The DMC we will use to direct traffic to the website is emailing. By emailing the existing clients on the database and making use of the already established links, we can cheaply, rapidly and effectively raise awareness of the business’ services.
There are potential risks involved with using digital and social media to promote financial support, payroll services and workshops. Older clients may not have the knowledge or skills to be successfully reached by digital and specifically social media. Also more mature clients may not see social media marketing as a particularly professional choice and business owners that are hoping to acquire financial direction may not think to seek this information on Twitter or Facebook.
